We’re all motivated and ready for a new season at CAPESTYLE design! We’ve just returned from Cape Town, meeting with some of our inspiring and creative suppliers there, and having a little summer holiday on the side :-)

Cape Town shines in the summer: the energy, the colours, the sea, the creativity, the warmth of its people. Days on the beach, walks in the fynbos, lunch on Bree Street, exploring the treasures of Woodstock, gin and tonics at sunset...

We visited our Pure Cotton suppliers, MUNGO, at the Old Nick Village in Plettenberg Bay. Mungo produces beautiful, high quality, ethical linens and cottons. Their unique designs are vibrantly African, yet modern and contemporary. We can’t wait to stock their new Mali cloth cushion covers and table runners in the coming summertime.

The PICHULIK studio is located in the heart of vibey Woodstock in Cape Town. Their payoff line ‘Bold Jewellery, Brave Women’ captures the essence of their pieces – beautiful, bold designs. The studio was a hive of creative industry on our visit and we so look forward to seeing (and stocking) their new collection soon.

Also in Woodstock, we visited DESIGN AFRIKA, the creative and administrative heart of all the beautiful baskets in our shop. We loved all the new designs and styles on show. But what stole our hearts were a range of colourful, grass handbag designs – a collaboration between Design Afrika and Pichulik. We’re hoping to have some in stock in time for the European spring …..

We also visited the new VINWOOD showroom in the trendy, upmarket Cape Quarter. Vinwood, the creators of our Wine Barrel Oak range, continues to focus on high quality furniture and wooden kitchen and table accessories made from recycled wine barrels. We love the authenticity, quality and durability of their products.

We’re so excited to be back in Hamburg to share all we’ve found. But we can’t help a little nostalgia and reminiscing over our trip down south too ……..
